A Reunion, and The Boulevard Boyz 6th Anniv Party At Takaakis

Sunday, August 31, 2008

She's baaack! YAY! And good thing too, cause I got a party to hit up! I was gonna meet up with the NOS boys over at Park N' Fly in Paranaque at 6pm.

What's this? A newly re-upholstered seat? For me? Aw thanks, John!

6pm. Park N' Fly, Paranaque. Waiting for the rest of the NOS boys to show up.
Met up again with my first love. A ZZR1100. Damn, what a beauty. We will be together again someday. I swear it.

After stopping over at Shell macapagal to wait for the SPEARS club, we finally made it to the Boulevard Boyz Anniversary party. The Takaakis parking lot alone was a sight to behold. It's no Sturgis, but it sure came close! Bikes of all kinds were all gathered in one place. Choppers, Sportbikes, Sport-tourers, Trikes, Standards, you name it! Everytime a bike rolled by, a hush fell over the crowd, anxious to see what kind of awesomeness they will be exposed to. Of course, looking for a parking space was a challenge on its own. Hehehe!

As you can see, the place was totally packed.

Woohah! Hairmetal never dies in the Philippines! Sing it with me now! "... The Final Countdown!!!..."

Finally got my colors. Thanks Jauhn!

All in all, it was a great night. was among good company, met up with some old friends, and rocked out to old school hairmetal! THE FINAL COUNTDOWN!!!

Oh yeaah...

Went to Gil's today to pay for the work John did on the Dragstar, and also to pay for the tickets to tomorrow's event. Hotdaym, I can't wait!

Anyway, I was greeted by this sight...

Are you freakin' kidding me? New signal lamps? You rock, John! You are the man!

One of my all time heroes gets an upgrade... A metric cruiser!

Ever since I was a kid, I've been fascinated with the Kamen Rider(Masked Rider) shows. The show's been around since the late 70's, and still has a huge cult following to this very day.

I wasn't lucky enough to catch the original Kamen Rider(see above pic), since I was born during the 80's. I was instead treated to one of the greatest Kamen Rider shows of the 80's: Kamen Rider Black!

How cool is that? A guy who transforms into the ultimate butt whomping, biker! Now THAT's a hero!

Fastforward to 2008. The latest Kamen Rider no longer uses a sportbike, or a dirtbike. He's got a freakin' chopper!

Enter, Kamen Rider Kiva, and his "Machine Kivaa"!

Font view of the awesomeness...

Awesomeness from the side...

Turns out, his "Machine Kivaa" is a 2007 Honda Shadow Aero® VT750!

*SIGH* My hero...

Wishlist: Motorcycle Luggage

Wether it's on a sportbike, or on a cruiser, I'm always a tourer. So I did some internet window shopping, and I stumbled onto these goodies from Kuryakyn. And no, they're not paying me. I just simply, genuinely lust after these items.

1. The Kuryakyn Granthrow-Over Saddlebags

These things are mega-huge! perfect for girlfriends with huge handbags! Can we even call them handbags? Maybe handsacks? Handvaults? I dunno.

Here's what they look like mounted. Looks like you can still squeeze between cars in Metro Manila traffic! I'm sold!

2. The Kuryakyn Classic Tour Bag

This is why I'm planning to have a sissybar installed. This simply looks awesome, and can carry a lot!

Here's what it looks like mounted. That's so sick! I want them both so bad! I wonder what's the going rate on kidneys these days? Hehehehe!

This sucks so much @$$!

Just got a call from my friend/mechanic, John. He says that the battery I bought a couple of months ago was weak, and was barely able to supply power to the bike. That's odd. That battery's almost brand-spankin' new! It's been on the bike for a good 4-5 months now! He asked me if it's one of those 2 thousand peso ones, and I DO remember shelling out that amount to buy it. He then replies with a grim "Oh.", which is never a good thing. He then said that he'll run a few more tests after pushing the bike back to his shop. He also told me that it's probably the wiring or something. Looking back though, it ran relatively fine before I even brought the bike to Gil's joint using THAT same battery. Gosh, I hope everything turns out ok tomorrow. Man, this sucks...

Tick.. Tock... Tick... Tock...

Still waiting for my Dragstar to come home. She sure is taking her sweet time. Which is ok. That can only mean excellence in workmanship. I decided to hit the town to take my mind off the wait.

Saw this Honda Hornet600 in ATC. I just had to take a picture. I heard that this bike's devilishly fast. I honestly don't think I'd look good on this thing. I think I'm too big for it. My kid brother would kill to be on one of these things though, despite his size.

Pics of my old bike...

Dug up some pics of my old bike. *SIGH* Good times.

Here she is. My 1994 ZZR400. Had her outfitted with an Oxford tank bag, Oxford tail pack, and a pair of locally made panniers. Sorry. Stupid index finger got in the way.

This is my bike along with others in Laeuna De Taal in Tagaytay.

Trying my hand at cornering on wet roads in Marilaque.

Marilaque again. Yes, I have a goofy smile.

And finally this was taken when me and a bunch of buddies rode into Tagaytay with heavy rain on a dare. I call this pic "Great view, Bad idea".Ü

Wall-E and Johnny 5: Separated at birth?

Monday, August 18, 2008

Saw Wall-E yesterday. It was a great flick. Every now and then we tend to indulge in those kinds of flicks, just to break the routine.

Eve's cool. As long as you don't piss her off.

If you're into hopeless romantics, Then Wall-E's you're man, er, bot.

Mo was the best character in my opinion. He can't have his universe littered with FOREIGN CONTAMINANTS. If you were dirty, he'd chase you into the gates of hell if need be.

However...

I can't help but feel lik'e I've seen this before...

Kinda makes you wonder...

Visited her last Saturday.

Sunday, August 17, 2008

I saw that they've done a nice job on her. All the things that were once painted black are now all blingy! Woohoo! Can't wait to have her back!

That's how you rock out!

He even headbangs! His facial expression is freakin' priceless! WOOOOOO!!!

Woohoo! Long Weekend!

Nothing can ruin my day now... NOTHING!!!

Being a cager's the pits...

The commute to work was especially painful today. Took my mom's Pajero. I completely fogot how huge this freakin' car is. I had a hard time looking for a parking space.

On top of that, mom's whining about me sucking up her gas everytime I use her car. How I wish I could simply perform 2 cartwheels, and I'd be at work already.

This sucks major ass. Man, I wish my bike was done already.

But with the rising gas prices, I'm kinda leaning towards getting a lower displacement 2-wheeler. Preferrably a 250cc CVT type. Like...

A Honda Helix! Man look at that! looks like a freakin' boat! *hums "Thundersub" theme* I heard these were around during the 80's, so a 2nd hand unit shouldn't cost a lot.

Plus, it's got room for me, my girl and her baggage!
Check out the cruiser-ish handlebars! Man I so want one!

Power Rangers?

Wait, what?

Man what a day...

It was a long-ass day.

So I'll treat myself and y'all to this...

Man this is so my song right now...
